Obituary for Robert Sullivan Simons

GONE TOO SOON

Robert Sullivan Simons was born on May 14, 1984, in Hollywood, Florida. With deepest sorrow
we announce that Robert passed away on July 3, 2020.

Robert was the son of the late Ralph Simons and Ana Maria Simons, brother, Michael Simons,
he is survived by his grandmother, Flora Erickson, and by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Robert was an amazing young man, he had it all, intelligence, athletic ability, fantastic wit, a
great smile and best of all the greatest heart. To Robert, family always came first.

He was a wonderful and caring son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend. Those who
knew Robert were blessed to find his smile and the warmth behind it. Robert cared about people
with his simple mannerism in the purest way. He loved them for who they were, not who he
wanted them to be. Robert had deep rooted goodness with the capacity to bring happiness to
others. He wasn’t afraid to try new things and often did so.

Robert’s kindness was accompanied with a thirst for knowledge. Robert set goals for himself at
a very young age and surpassed everyone’s expectations. Robert was a member of the Honor
Society while attending Boyd Anderson High School, along with being a member of the varsity
football team, and was successful in earning an International Baccalaureate Diploma. Although
Robert was accepted to Cornell University on a football scholarship, he decided to attend the
University of Florida on a full academic scholarship, and became a true Gator’s fan. Robert
graduated with a Bachelor of Science and Computer Engineering Degree.

There are no words to describe the sorrow his family is going through. Robert will be greatly
missed by his family, friends, and anyone who was lucky to get to know him.
At this time, the family will be having private services for Robert.

Always loved, forever missed and never forgotten. Rest in peace Robert until we met again.
