Obituary for Meldred Henriques
We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Mildred "Dede" Henriques of Fort Lauderdale, FL. She passed suddenly at the young age of 52 on September 24, 2022. Dede was a caring daughter, sister, aunt, dog mom and friend to many.
She was born to Joaõ and Maria Candida Henriques on August 29, 1970. She lived her early years in Philadelphia, PA and most of her adult life in Fort Lauderdale, FL. She worked with South African Airlines for over 25 years where many co-workers became life long friends.
While Dede never married, she lived a full and vibrant life with her dog Mia (who she adored), family and good friends. Her family meant everything to her. She enjoyed spending time at the beach, long walks, shopping, traveling, good food and everything chocolate.
Dede was preceded in death by her father Joaõ Henriques. She is survived by her mother, Maria Candida Henriques; brother, Francisco Henriques (Helena); Nieces, Ilea Sweeney (Andrew); Lauren Henriques; Great nephew/niece, Luke and Nora Sweeney.
We ask that you please pray for her, have a mass or celebration of life in her honor and/or make a donation to a dog shelter in her name. We all know how much she loved her Mia.
A private service to celebrate her life with immediate family will take place in Pennsylvania. Kindly respect the family during this difficult time of grieving.
