Obituary for Martha J Heminger

Martha (Jackson) Heminger, 98, passed peacefully the afternoon of February 24 in Ft.
Lauderdale, FL, where she had resided for over 60 years. At her request, there will be no
service.

She was born to Edward and Florence (Garlinger) Jackson in Findlay, OH on September 30,
1923 in the owner’s apartment attached to her father’s department store.

Upon graduation from Findlay High School, she attended Miami University in Oxford, OH,
earning a BA in English. At Miami, she became a life long Sister in the Chi Omega Sorority.

Returning to Findlay after college, she married Harold Heminger (1922-1984), in 1946. They
had three children, Carol (1953-1988), Daniel (1961) and Thomas (1963-2009).

Her chosen profession was homemaker. An avid reader, subscribing to the newspaper until her
last day, she also loved to travel, play bridge, and was known for her needlepoint.

She is survived by her son, Daniel, daughter in law Andrea, grandchildren Andrew (Morganne),
Melanie (Ryan) Blakeslee, Matthew and Luke, and three great grandchildren all of Ft.
Lauderdale, as well as her nephews Karl (Dawn) Heminger and Kurt (Sue) Heminger, of Findlay.

The family would like to thank Tyler Major, her assistant, for his devoted help and
companionship.

It’s five o’clock somewhere. Cheers! RIP
