Obituary for Kathy Jo Jehring
Kathy Jo (Garvin) Jehring, 72, of Margate, Florida, passed away naturally and comfortably August 12, 2022
after a series of numerous battles during her adult life from multiple health issues and accidental injuries.
Kathy Jo Garvin was born in May 1950 in Dayton, Ohio as her birthplace and soon later called Marion, Ohio as
her hometown. Notably, Kathy Garvin’s high school years were spent with the graduating Class of 1968 at
Tempe High School in Tempe, Arizona where she especially enjoyed modern dance activities.
After high school, Kathy Jo enjoyed very much her new-found independence as an adult. During her
adventurous time exploring her freedoms of the late 60’s and the early 70’s, Kathy-Jo freely met and accepted
her Lord God and Savior in 1973 to become religiously born again.
Soon after reaffirming her Lord God as Savior, Kathy-Jo met Tom Jehring, her love of her life. Tom and Kathy-
Jo wed in March 1977, and then went on to have three children: Amy Constance Jehring (1977), Aaron Paul
Jehring (1980), and James Nathan Jehring (1984).
After getting married to Tom, she fully devoted her loving life to her husband Tom plus her three baptized
children Amy, Aaron, and James.
In the home, Kathy Jo pursued fine drawings, paintings, and crafting to explore her beautiful self-expression of
heart and soul as well as continuing her deep devotion to Lord Jesus, her husband, and her children.
Kathy Jo and her husband enjoyed thirty years (1979-2009) in Malabar, Florida enjoying the beach, nature and
shuttle launches. After retirement in 2009 Kathy and her husband moved to Spokane, Washington to be closer
to her brother Danny Garvin and his family. There she enjoyed the outdoors that the Spokane area provided.
Kathy Jo is survived by her husband Tom in Margate Florida, their daughter Amy Jehring, their son Aaron
Jehring, and their son James Jehring. Kathy Jo is also survived by her brother Danny Garvin and his wife Karen
Garvin in Deer Park, Washington along with their grown children in the near vicinity of Spokane, Washington,
Burial services will be privately held by family and close friends of Kathy-Jo.
